                    {  As part of me trying to kick myself into blogging more over the summer I'm going to be attempting to blog one of my favourite elements/things from the past fashion season each week, with a small collage. Enjoy. }

Formation of the stone: 

Marble is a metamorphic rock made out of limestone, when the limestone is compressed by either other rock pressure or the ocean the marble pattern is formed. Marble is a lot more attractive and stronger than limestone so is encouraged to form at times. Despite this marble in its purest form is extremely rare and expensive (especially white marble, often used in statues.)

So after lusting after every fluffy shoe that I came into contact with for basically a year I've finally got my hands on a pair... they came as a gift from my sister and are perfect, couldn't have chosen better myself. This pair is from BOOHOO and come in either nude or black. CLICK HERE TO BUY. The pictures on the website don't do the shoes justice, the fluffing is delicate and pretty with a unique nude colour finish they also come with replaceable heel tabs which is a really nice touch. Now to wait for the rain and snow to stop to I can wear them, either that or baby shoe umbrellas.

The lonely girls project | meet the l o n e l y girls ««

This is one of the cutest, empowering little blog ideas I've seen in a while, and in a lovely twist it comes from one of my favourite things 'handmade underwear'. The brand 'Lonely Label' sells beautiful hand-crafted lingerie, with styles to suit all tastes, shapes and sizes.

Women that buy from the brand, are encouraged to take pictures of themselves in beautiful locations, having fun. Its a subtle way of embracing body image without pushing the idea that we all are being forced to conform, feminism bla bla bla.... its all just good women have a good time. 

Smiling is sexy.

  The imagery is beautiful and shows women at their most natural and lovely moments, these images haven't been composed, photoshopped or staged. They are grainy, with blowing hair and body folds. It shows exactly what it means to be a free woman.

Have a wet wet winter | «« top 3 get lubed products.

Keep your skin, hair and body hydrated this winter.

  Its hard with central heating being on full blast everywhere you go, and the wing blowing crazy to keep your body and hair at a level of happy hydration! so i've been testing out products for the past few weeks to try and source the up-most best hydration products to see you through winter. Don't wind up all shrivelled like my beautiful rose. Enjoy the colour on this post, i'll start to hate bright things again soon..

Left inwards:

1- Cowshed is one of my favourite cosmetic cream brands, i love their packaging and brand ethos. This product is quirkily named 'cow pat'. It feels lovely on the hands, absorbs in minutes and doesn't leave a greasy residue the size of the product is really handy as well and supplies an easy application. 

2- This limited edition tub of 'aloe vera' vaseline was almost made for the winter season, its cute little tin fits perfectly inside any purse, and stands out inside of a massive handbag for easy grabbing. Aloe vera is one of my favourite natural remedies its lovely to sooth the skin and heal little scratches and scars, the smell raw is a little off-putting but when the plant has been treated its divine. 

3- Last but not least is my favourite of the bunch, I bought this on a whim and I'm never going to stop using it (unless i run out of money then ill have too) it cost six pounds which is pricey for a low brand heat defence product but it works wonders. I have really long naturally strait hair, that can friz under heat and windy weather. I smooth this from the middle to ends of my hair and comb through just before blowdrying. If I'm doing poker strait hair, it makes it shine and look thick and full. It also helps to create a smoother wave or curl. I love it so much.

Cao Hui | Visual Temperature

Despite this making me feel terribly ill, I couldn't stop looking at. Maybe that was the intention of Hui when he created this exhibition. To me this says gluttony, greed and highlights the amount we personify solid objects. It puts into perspective how we place material things above the understanding of humanity. 

Looking at these spilling sculptures embarrasses onlookers.. they look unusual and make us feel mortal. I interpret it as a 3D representation of how much power and humility we give to things we buy, as if they have internal functioning organs. 

The pieces show how uncomfortable we are with our functioning bodies, and how we would much rather cover it under a lovely leather arm chair, or fancy statue. Seeing whats actually inside of us reminds us of mortality and in a sense frightens us. This shouldn't be the case, which I 'think' is the artists point. Foreign objects created from un-natural things should have more of an impact, as a human race we are uncomfortable with our bodies and organs. I feel Hui is trying to tackle this, however gory the format. 

 These were created using various wax's and resins, no actual blood or animal parts were used. The artists technique is amazing, he manages to make the internal organs look sickly, and angry as if they are screaming to us for not paying them enough attention.

I miss you :*

Beef steak with greens and goats cheese | Five minutes to make!

This tasted absolutely divine and surprisingly took me only five minutes to make! (depending on how you like your steak) I cooked this rare. 

What you will need:

1. Piece of frying beef or steak (can be any cut you like fillet, sirloin etc....) as a student this was my budget
2. Rocket salad leaves 
3. Salt and pepper for seasoning 
4. Goats cheese 
5. 1X chopped tomato 
6. Fresh spinach 
7. Oil 

Make this in five minutes by following these easy steps :)

1) 

Fry steak in hot pan with oil, season with salt and pepper.. this varies in time depending on how you take your steak. I normally just sear both sides and serve. 

2) 

Prepare salad bed. Mix rocket and diced tomato on plate. Once steak is ready place on top of salad bed so juices can soak through.

3) 

Wash spinach and fry in hot oily pan for a few minutes, not enough time for the spinach to shrivel, optionally season with salt and pepper. 

4) 

Place spinach next to steak etc... and sprinkle the whole dish with crumbs of goats cheese. 

Enjoy because its fuckigdfd divine.

thai curry with curly kale

Make this for under a fiver... being a student is no excuse guys. 

For reasons un- be known to me recently i've caught the cooking bug and seeing as I don't have anything else to put up on here I thought why not share the things Im making on my blog. 

Im constantly trying to be healthy trying out new foods to help with weight loss, and a better generally more healthy life style (contradicted by the alcohol consumption sadly) this is tonights conquest made with real chicken (although I tend to use quorn) because its a little bit quicker. Im going to try to post some more food things on here (excuse the horrible kitchen I'm a student) all of the recipes will be bought within my student budget and won't take too much time to product because sadly... I'm a busy girl..

What you will need:

1. Chicken breast cut into pieces 
2. A thai curry cooking sauce / coconut milk (optional) 
3. Curly Kale 
4. Green beans 
5. 1 Onion 
6. Pepper/ chosen spices etc...
7. 1 Lime
8. 1 Green pepper
9. Spinich

The final result....

1.

Dice onions thinly and green pepper. Remove both ends from green beans and rinse under cold water.

2.

                           Add chicken, onions and sliced green pepper to a hot frying pan.

3.

             Add thai curry sauce and green beans to pan, stir through and leave to simmer. Continue to season throughout pan frying process. 

4. 

        Add spinach to the pan and stir through. Spinich will shrivel and fold into curry. Leave to simmer.

5. 

                      Grate lime zest and add to mixture, then squeeze lime into curry until dry. 

6.

                       Put curly Kale in pan with bolding water and leave to boil for three to five minutes 

7.

                    Drain and leave to sit for a few minutes. (Again so sorry for the gross kitchen) 

8. 

      Place curry on top of the kale and enjoy!

A home time surprise | future bedroom tour

Since going back to university to finish off my first semester (second year) my mum has been LOUDLY decorating the house, we've had a crazy decorator that drank tea like a fish and sang to our dogs, and big radiator leaks but It's safe to say since coming home this weekend for a few days its all worth it and the house looks lovely. A surprise for me and entire reason for this blog post is my lovely new bed room that I didn't know would be finished and look this lovely, especially as I spent the majority of the year living away from home.

I am going to do a longer blog post showing all of the bits in the room as this isn't the best picture, Im also going to be doing a list of where everything is from etc... and price, availability. Just wanted to share it with you... as it was such a lovely surprise. Have a beautiful weekend.

Minnie Haul | a few bits from september

This blog post is dedicated to all of the things I've bought (naughty jessie) throughout late August and early September. They're all very different but equally help me to dig further and further into my over draft. There's not everything on here, but this is the stuff that looked the prettiest when it was photographed (sorry for being such a rubbish photographer). 

Candles have recently become an obsession of mine whenever Im not working, or before I go to bed I light them.. its the most of the most relaxing things in the world. I bought a pair of Jelly Belly scented candles from a massive ASDA that my boyfriend kindly took me to! (how romantic) two flavours came in the gift pack. There was 'very cherry' and the other is called 'bubble gum'. I've almost used up all of the very cherry because of how good it smells, and i'm really excited to light up the bubble gum one. The cream coloured candle is vanilla scented and another infamous asda special! I love the little glass tub it comes in and the bow tied around the neck, im saving this one for my new uni room because of how pretty it looks.

Evidence of my acessories addiction is shown in the following pictures, whoops! I picked up this beautiful blue pendant necklace from Primark in Manchester whilst I was on a lovely weekend away, it cost me £4.00 and im really impressed with it because its so different to anything i've had before. I love the colour and the enamel style stone, beautiful. The second necklace is from NEXT im not as keen on this one as much as the first, but still im sure i'll get my wear from it. This cost me a stupid £20.00 which is probably why im a little rescentful of it.... and maybe why I don't normally shop in NEXT. All of the following rings are form Primark again, the little gold ones came in a pack that cost £2.50 and the silver larger ring cost £1.50 I wear this ring all the time, it was also from the Manchester Primark and im so happy that I picked it up.

This is something I bought today, its from one of my favourites H&M though because the cut and fitting of the skirt is so strange I had to buy it in a much bigger size. The zipper cuts down the front of the skirt and fastens the whole skirt together. It cost me £24.00 roughly so hopefully I will wear it a lot during winter and the coming autumn. I love the zip running down the middle of the skirt and the style of leather its lovely, its crinkled and thick looking which is different to any faux leather i've come across recently. 

I've lusted after this little flowery crop top for such a long time, I saw it on the TOPSHOP website when it first came online and wanted it at full price, so I was so happy when I found it in the sale yesterday when I 'nipped' into TOPSHOP. There is a snag (as there is with most things in life) the only size they had was a 16, my little boobs are swamped in this top but im going to ask a friend to take it in so all is well! in the mean time at least I get extra frills! and it looks really lovely with my new leather skirt.

beautiful new river island boots

My obsession with chunky looking winter boots has been on- going for years now and I thought I had my addiction under control. Despite everything I couldn't leave these puppies on the shelf, and digging further into my overdraft made them mine. If I remember properly they cost me £37-£40.00, I bought them from the Burton store (in a small town close to where I live) the actual River Island shop there isn't the prettiest or most popular but because of this your size is almost always there and they don't run out of popular lines as quickly, its also really nice and quite there so you can shop in space and peace. 

I instagramed these literally as soon as I got home because of how excited I was about them, and was really flattered when River Island #regrammed the picture onto their official page. It got lots of interest and River Island customers began asking me questions about the boots which was lovely. I was also able to get in contact with lots of other chunky boot enthusiast's on instagram and twitter which was equally lovely.

Also in the picture are some little ring sets and a cutie little candle. These are all from Primark, which is amazing for little jewellery bits and cutie home accessories at the moment. The candles were £1.50 each (i bought three) they're vanilla scented and look lovely lit in there little glass dome. I've actually nearly finished using these candles because I love the smell so much, so will definitely be going to buy some more! 

The rings are gorgeous also, the cream coloured pack were a stack of five little gold looking rings, one was like a twisted vine which looked really cool. These cost no more than £3.00, the second set had another cool twisted ring this time in the style of a snake. There was also a semi- precious red stone ring (vintage looking) and others perfect for stacking these were also £3.00 (around). 

I'm actually really impressed with all of the little bits Primark has in their store and on their social media accounts at the minute, I'm going to have to start hunting them out as I am going to be decorating both my home and university bedroom!

a little hello again

In a bid to stop being lazy, and emerse myself in some writing practice I've decided to take up with my lovely blog again, and what better way to start that to treat it to a shiny new face lift!

Lots of new things have happened since I stopped blogging so I'm very eager to start sharing my life on here again. In september I'm due to be entering into my second year of study at UCLAN after finishing (and passing) my first year. Ive got lots of lovely things planned from Septmber onwards, and still fun things to happen this summer (whats left of it) so I hope you all enjoy reading about them.

What is your favourite lip balm?-

Every other day i exfoliate my lips with sugar and olive oil together once i have done this i apply just a basic nivea lip balm if I'm feeling exotic i'll spend time looking for a new lip product burts and bees etc... brands like that. I don't tend to use too much product on my lips. 

What did you do last weekend?-

My ex-flat mate and chum Rosie came up from london for a whole week, so we spent the weekend together doing cool stuff. We went to see The Evil Dead which was terrifying, and also went out a lot at night for drinks and stuff. It was just really lovely to spend girly time with her!

What is your best fashion buy?-

I shop way too much, so its hard to pick out something recently that I've bought that I consider to be a 'best buy' ... one of the favourite things I've bought recently is a bright lime leather clutch from Zara it's ties in perfectly with the new neon trend and adds statement to some of my more boring outfits. 

What is your favourite way to spend a rainy sunday afternoon?-

As gay as it sounds, i love walking/jogging in the rain. Also... Sunday afternoon is one of the few times i can just sit and watch TV so probably sitting following a huge roast watching a wildlife documentary.. such a thug

What is your favourite beauty product?-

I go through phases with beauty products but i'd say at the moment its SAND TROPEZ by ESSIE (nail varnish), its a nude shade and costs around eight pounds. It goes on really well, the colour is really elegant and its surprisingly resilient against chipping. I'm also having a bit of an eye brow thing at the moment, i've been looking for a product that works well with them and on my quest have come across some really cute and affordable products by natural collection i've been using their neutral eye shadow duo (£3.00) with a cotton bud to thicken out my eyebrows and their eye brow pencil (2.40) to create definition. They're products are really affordable and simple, which I like and are also free from harsh chemicals that are really bad for the environment and your skin. 

Do you prefer dark, milk or white chocolate?-

Probably milk chocolate! galaxy is amazing. White chocolate and strawberries is equally beautiful.. who am I kidding if its chocolate blue, white, dark I will eat it. All of it.

What is your favourite book?-

I read Kelly Kultrones autobiography a few weeks back called, if you have to cry go outside that was really interesting as I've always been a massive fan of hers. At the moment I'm reading a book named the ugly business of beautiful women it explores the ugly world behind the beautiful mask of the modelling/fashion industry, its.. different. The Harry Potter books are a given also.

What are the top five cites you'd like to visit?- 

This is going to be hideously generic but.. Paris, New-york, Amsterdam, Budapest and.... VENICE!

What is your middle name (if you have one)?- 

Louise, when i was young my mum used to call me JLO which is horrendous, or Jessie Lou *shudders*

What, or who, inspired you to start a blog?- 

I used to have another blog called flippin elle but I had a dilemma (cringe) and wasn't sure if I wanted to fashion blog anymore so I stopped. When I realised I missed fashion and beauty blogging I set up my new site, which is this one!

My first styling job ever!

Little more than a week ago i had my first (un-paid) styling job ever. It was amazing to work with the photographer (MWF Media) and my beautiful model/chum chloe (@FlorenceSaxon). Here are some of the photos that were taken and below i am going to list where every thing i put together is from. 

hair and makeup-  

Chloe has long amazing hair so we didn't really need to do much to it. For some of the photographs her hair was tied back to highlight her eye brows, which were gelled and penciled in for dramatic effect. For a few of the photographs we used black lipstick which looked amazing against the leathers etc..enjoy guys
